The Hemingford Bobcats claimed the girls Panhandle Conference Tournament championship, upending the Sioux County Warriors 52-33.
The teams stayed with each other through the first, ending the opening frame with the score tied at nine, but Hemingford pulled away before half-time, going up 23-15. The Bobcats used a 14-7 run in the third to widen their lead and poured in 16 in the final eight minutes to secure the title. K. Walker and C. Bryner netted 18 and 11 points for the Bobcats, while Kailey Klein scored 12 for the Warriors.
The Crawford Rams finished in third with a 55-41 victory over Edgemont. The consolation match started with the Rams and Moguls tied at 14, but a 21-point second quarter pushed the Rams to a 35-21 advantage at half-time. The Moguls mounted a 14-11 come-back challenge in the fourth, but fell short.
Morrill took the fifth-place contest, inching by Hay Springs 46-42. The Lions led 10-9 early and were up by four at half-time. Morrill extended their lead to six, 31-25, after the break and survived a 17-15 run late in the game by the Hawks.
