The Bridgeport boys and girls basketball teams combined for 20-three pointers as the Bulldogs swept a double header from Chadron on Saturday, 65-31 in the girls contest and 57-44 in the boys game.
The Lady Cardinals were never able to get off the ground as the Lady Bulldogs threw the entire kitchen sink at Coach McLains squad, hitting six of their eight three’s in the opening half to build a 34-12 lead.
Not a single Chadron player was able to reach double figures as Freshman Demi Ferguson had a career high nine points.
The Bridgeport boys used the same formula as their girl early on, pushing Chadron with a full court press and connecting on six of the twelve long distance shots in the opening half. After finding themselves in a double digit hole, Chadron cut the deficit down to 26-20.
The Cards pulled within five early in the 3rd quarter, but the Bulldogs continued hitting threes and keeping Chadron at arms length.
Justus Alcorn had a Chadron career high 20 -points in the loss.
Chadron’s boys and girls now turn their attention to the holiday break where they will not play again until December 29th.
