The Nebraska girls high school state basketball tournament will wrap up today with six championship games, and none of those champs will be from the panhandle.
Scottsbluff was the last hope western Nebraska had on Friday morning, by Friday afternoon the Bearcats fell victim to Elkhorn North 65-41. It’s the second straight year that Scottsbluff has ended their season in the semifinals.
Bridgeport is bringing home hardware after a 4th place finish in Class C2. The Bulldogs lost to BRLD in the 3rd place game 47-40.
Mullen was the other western Nebraska team still playing yesterday morning and they took down Wynot 30-28 in the D2 3rd place game.
