Broncos Rookie Linebacker Returns From 3 Heart Procedures

The player who seems to be showing the most heart at Broncos training camp is rookie linebacker Jonathon Cooper, who underwent three procedures in May to correct an irregular heartbeat.

Cooper was diagnosed as a teenager with a heart condition that caused a rapid heartbeat and he had two procedures to correct it in high school. He then played football at a high level for eight years, including five at Ohio State.

So you can imagine his surprise when a pre-draft EKG revealed the heart issue.

He ended up needing three cardiac procedures to restore his normal heart rhythm.
