The Sioux County Warriors dropped a 55-51 nailbiter to the Alliance Bulldogs Thursday for their third loss of the season.

The contest was close throughout, with the ladies tied at 10 after the first quarter. Alliance inched ahead with a 15-10 run in the second for a 25-20 advantage going into the break. Two treys and three free throws by Britney Klein and Beth Krein accounted for nine of Sioux County’s 13 third quarter points to give the Warriors a 33-32 lead as the fourth quarter began.

Kailey Klein netted 10 points for the Warriors in the final eight minutes, including an eight-of-10 showing at the free throw line. In spite of scoring 18 in the final stand, the Warriors still fell short, as Alliance netted 23 to take the win.

The Klein sisters teamed up for 30 of Sioux County’s points, with Kailey making 16 and Britney sinking 14. Jaelynne Clarke led the Bulldogs with 17.
