Chadron State College offensive lineman Justin Calderon became the 60th All-America recipient in Eagles football history on Wednesday when the American Football Coaches Association revealed its 2021 All-America teams. He was placed on the Second Team of the organization’s highest accolades, capping a successful career.

Calderon, the Eagles’ starting left tackle for the past three seasons, has started all 26 games at the position since 2019. He led a unit which produced the RMAC’s third best passing offense and fourth scoring offense. CSC was No. 2 in third down conversion rate and gained the fourth-most yardage per game.

Calderon is a two-time All-RMAC First Teamer, a 2019 Don Hansen All-Region Third Teamer, and in 2018 he was named to the NJCAA All-America honorable mention list while at Nassau Community College.

He is the 18th offensive lineman to take All-America honors as an offensive lineman at CSC, as well as the fourth under CSC Head Football Coach Jay Long.

“Justin had a great year,” said Long. “Every week, he was one of the most dominant players on the football field. I’m extremely proud of him for earning All-America, because he worked hard to achieve it and is very deserving.”

Shepherd University quarterback Tyson Bagent and Lindenwood linebacker Drew Seers were named the Players of the Year.
