The best team outing of the season didn’t translate in to results for the Chadron High boys golf team on Monday at the B-4 districts in Sidney.

The Cardinals had a team score of 356, seven strokes better than their previous best in Ogallala last Thursday, but a tough field powered by three team scores under 335 was just too much.

Ogallala led the way with a 324.  McCook tallied a 326 and Alliance had a 331 to lead the automatic team qualifiers.

Jakeb Scherer of Gothenburg was the individual champion with a 73.  The top 10 was rounded out with a score of 79 by three different golfers.

Broc Berry was five strokes out with an 84.  Jacksyn Behrends was next in line with an 87.

Chase Olson carded a 92, Shawn Schremmer shot a 93, and Trey Hendrickson had a 95.

The Class B state meet will be next Tuesday and Wednesday at Elks Country Club in Columbus.
