Cards Tame The Bulldogs, Stay Unbeaten

Justus Alcorn pulled off the offensive trifecta with a passing, receiving, and rushing touchdown as Chadron stayed unbeaten with a 41-6 win over Alliance on Friday night.

It took most of the 1st quarter before the Cardinals got their first score of the night on what would be the 1st of two Dawson Dunbar touchdown runs.

Midway through the 2nd, Alcorn threw his only passing score to Seth Gaswich to extend the Chadron lead out to 13-0. Right before half, a little pitch and pass as Xander Provance threw his first touchdown pass of the season back to Alcorn to give the Cards a 20-0 lead advantage at the break.

With 6 minutes gone in the 3rd, Quinn Bailey scampered in and the blowout was on in Alliance. Alcorn would cross the goal line before the period ran out and Chadron had a 34-6 advantage through three quarters.

A Dunbar run would wrap things up in the 4th quarter and send Chadron to 7-0 on the season while Alliance is now 0-7.

Chadron is back on the road next week for the long drive to Gothenburg. It’s an early game with a 5:00 pm kickoff on KCSR and Chadrad.com.
