Chadron Battles In Crowded Gering Invite

It was a tough field at the Gering Invite on Tuesday as the Chadron High girls golf team fell short of a top 10 finisher, but did shoot a 420, their second best round of the season while finishing 5th out of 8 teams.

Maralee Rischling had the low round of the day for CHS with a 98, four strokes away from an individual medal.

Emily Krzyzanowski of Gering went 3-under par with the winning score of 69.  Nielli Heinhold of Scottsbluff was the runner-up with a 73 and fellow Bearcat Anna Kelley fired a 74.

Scottsbluff won the team title by 60 strokes over Mitchell 336-396.

Jackson Smith shot a 105, Raileigh Bridges a 107, Kenzie Pourier fired a 110, and Gracie Jones finished with a 115 for Chadron.

Kylie Coomes and Tessa Hurlburt were the only golfers in action for Gordon-Rushville, rounding out their day with scores of 113 and 117 respectively.

Chadron will be in Ogallala next Tuesday.
