Chadron Boys 2nd At Ogallala Track Invite

Chayton Bynes and Rhett Cullers were the only Chadron athletes to bring home gold medals from last Saturday’s Ed Moore Invite in Ogallala.

Bynes was tops in both the long jump and triple jump, setting personal best in both events. Bynes went 22’ 2.75” in the long jump and 44’ 5” in the triple jump. Cullers also set a new PR in the 110m hurdles in a winning time of 15.41.

Tatum Bailey had a pair of runner-up performances, reaching 33’ 1.25” in the triple jump and setting a new personal best of 15.98 in the 100m hurdles. Makinley Fuller had the other individual 2nd place finish in the 300m hurdles with a new PR of 49.53.

The Chadron girls 4x800m relay clocked in with a 2nd place time of 10:25.50.

Several of the Cardinal boys had runner-up performances. Carter Ryan took silver in the 800m with a 2:09.02. Malachi Swallow was 2nd in the 300m hurdles with a PR of 41.30. Cody Hall tossed the shot put 47’ 10.25” to take 2nd, and Bynes cleared 6’ 1” in the high jump for a new PR and 2nd place finish.

In the team standings the Chadron boys finished as runner-up to Sidney 144-89. The Chadron girls tied for 4th with Ogallala with 69.5 points. Chase County easily won the girls’ side with 132 points.
