The Chadron High volleyball team saw its season come to an end on Monday with a 26-24, 25-23, 15-25, 18-25, 8-15 loss to Ogallala at the C1-12 subdistrict tournament in Imperial.

Chadron built big leads in each of the first two sets before holding on to go up 2-0, but Ogallala flipped the script in getting the reverse sweep, jumping out big and fending off any Cardinal rally.

Tatum Bailey and Demi Ferguson had solid nights at the net with 24 and 18 kills respectively.

Just two days after setting a new Class C-1 record for digs in a season, Jacey Garrett had a season high 39.

Jaleigh McCartney was stout from the service line with five aces.

Head Coach Blakelee Hoffman said, “This was truly a tough loss to swallow. We played so well, but just ran out of gas after the third set. We struggled finding any kind of momentum after that set.”

Chadron will end the season with a 23-13 record, winning 20 of their last 23 games, including a 16 game winning streak.

This season the Cardinals claimed top honors at the Western Conference Tournament, the Valentine Invite, and the Pilfold Invitational.

Chadron will graduate three Seniors, Bailey, Garrett, and Macey Daniels.
