Chadron Girls Send Three To First Ever State Wrestling Championships

The Chadron girls will send three wrestlers to the first ever NSAA state championships after a trio of runner-up finishes at Saturday’s A-1 district meet in Nebraska City.

Chadron finished 4th in the team standings with 71.5 points. Norfolk earned team honors with 96.5, edging out Schuyler’s 95.  Fremont was 3rd with 74.

Taylee Williamson, Fia Rasmussen, and Kenli Boeselager all pinned their semifinal opponents to clinch their berths to state and contend for a district title.

Addie Diers came up short with a loss in the semifinals at 152-lbs and then dropped her consolation semifinal match to close out her season.

In the championship matches Williamson was pinned at 107-lbs by undefeated Aubrie Pehrson of Yutan. Rassmusen battled at 132-lbs dropping a close 6-4 decision to Ann Marie Meiman of Omaha North. Boeselager jumped out to a 4-0 in her match against Angelean Rose of Omaha Central but was pinned in the snd period.

Williamson will opponent the state meet with a 28-2 record and face Hadleigh Collison of Pierce who is 11-8. Rasmussen puts her 20-3 record up against 17-14 Sarah Klein of Centura.

Boeselager at 22-3 matched up with Miah Kenny of Grand Island Northwest who is 18-6.
