The Chadron High volleyball team continued their recent turn around with a 5th place finish at this weekend’s Twin City Invite.

During Friday’s pool play round the Cardinals took down North Platte 25-11, 25-19 and held off Rapid City Stevens 25-14, 25-23.

Grand Island Northwest was the only squad to defeat Chadron on Friday, in a sweep 25-14, 25-16.

The 2-1 record moved them into Saturday’s bracket play where they squared off with Sidney in the quarterfinals, losing 18-25, 26-24, 25-18. The Cardinals quickly rebounded with a 25-16, 27-25 victory against Rapid City Central and then took out Alliance in the 5th place match 25-13, 25-20.

Tatum Bailey and Demi Ferguson put in tons of work on the offensive side of the net with solid attack numbers and had contributions from the service line by just about everyone on the team.

Senior Jacey Garrett quietly continued a solid season where she has now tallied 416 digs while Jaleigh McCartney has a team high 422 set assists.

Chadron may get its toughest test of the season on Tuesday when they travel to Hart Ranch to face the 4th ranked team in Class A, Rapid City Christian.
