Chadron Golfers Hang Tough At Gering Invite

Just five days after shooting a season team best score of 373 at the Chadron Invite, the Cardinal boys golf team came away with a 378 at Tuesday’s Gering meet and were shut out of the top ten.

Chase Olson had another solid outing with an 88. Broc Berry shot a 93 and Jacksyn Behrends tallied a 97.

To say the field was tough is an understatement.  Cheyenne Central, who won the team portion with a 318, had all five of their golfers on the scorecard score an 84 or under. Cheyenne East was right behind with a 322.

Crayton Cyza of Alliance was the individual winner with a round of an even par 72. Central and East combined to fill up six of the next eight top ten spots. Mitchell’s Austin Thyne rounded out the individual medalists with an 81.

Trey Hendrickson finished his round with a 100 and Caden Galbraith carded a 102.

The Cardinals are at Ogallala next Thursday to close out the regular season.
