Chadron High Cancels Trips To Alliance For Volleyball Citing COVID-19 Concerns

Chadron High School has released a statement saying that the Lady Cardinal volleyball team will not be traveling to Alliance on Thursday or Saturday out of a concern of an increase of COVID-19 cases and lack of public health protocols in place at Alliance Public Schools.

“There is too high of risk to our volleyball team and fans of being exposed to the COVID-19 virus to compete in Alliance this week.”, the statement says.

Chadron was scheduled to play a single game on Thursday night against the Bulldogs before returning on Saturday for the annual Alliance Tournament.

The statement goes on to say that the fact that the sub-district tournament is set to be played next Monday and Tuesday was also a factor when making a decision.

The statement closed with an apology to the student-athletes and parents for the loss of the games.

Sub-district brackets will be released on Thursday afternoon.
