Chadron native and Central Wyoming men’s golfer Trevor Berry fired a round of 86 at Monday’s opening round of the NJCAA division one National Tournament in Lubbock, Texas.

His first day score leaves him at the bottom of the leaderboard, while as a team the Rustlers are three strokes ahead of McCook Community College with a 332.

Berry may have had the most up and down round of the day, hitting an eagle on the par four 10th, only to go 9-over on his last four holes.

Hutchinson CC of Kansas leads the field with a team score of 280, with Odessa College’s Will Adams 6-under to sit atop the individual leaderboard.
