Chadron Places Four On Junior American Legion All-Panhandle Conference Team

After finishing second in the Area 7 Nebraska Legion Tournament, the Chadron Post 12 FNBO Junior Nationals placed four players on the All-Panhandle Conference team. Trey Hendrickson, Quinn Bailey, Broc Berry and Caden Buskirk were all recognized for their play this summer.

Hendrickson, making the team as outfielder, hit .271 on the year collecting 17 RBI’s while committing only one error on the year. Bailey made the team as both an outfielder and catcher. He hit .333 with two doubles and 13 RBI’s. Quinn had a combined .965 fielding percentage behind the plate and in center field. Buskirk hit .317 on the year with four doubles and 11 RBIs. He was perfect in the field committing no errors on 63 attempts from his third base spot.

Berry had an outstanding season. He made the team as both a pitcher and infielder. On the mound, Broc went 3-0 in the four games he started with an ERA of 1.016. He struck out 35 opponents and gave up just 6 walks. At the plate, he hit .431 with four doubles, five triples and led the Nats with 24 RBIs. Those stats were also enough to earn the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year in the conference.

The All-Conference teams are voted on by opposing coaches on their performance in conference play. Other players recognized include: Outfield: Espen Lanik, Cody Galles-Alliance; Infield: Logan Slama-Sheridan County. Bo Gable-Gering. Reid Fiscus-Sidney; Pitcher: Trey Thorsen-Sheridan County; Utility: Nik Weibert-Bridgeport; Defensive Player of the Year: Isaiah Murillo-Gering.
