The Chadron High softball team wrapped up the final day of the Twin City Tournament by splitting games with Gering and Alliance.
An 8 run bottom of the 5th broke a 1-1 tie against Alliance as the Cards won 9-1. Kinley Richardson started off the inning with an RBI triple and finished off the inning with a two RBI single.
Demaris Kelso went the distance in the circle giving up 3 hits and just the lone run with 3 strikeouts.
Gering scored 15 runs in the first two innings on their way to a 16-4 win over Chadron in three innings in the 2nd game of the day.
Richardson, Kristen Rasmussen, and Josslyn Pourier accounted for all of the Cardinals RBI’s in the four run 2nd.
Six of Gering’s twelve hits were extra bases, including two home runs.
Chadron’s record now sits at 6-8 on the season. They are on the road at Alliance on Tuesday.
