Chadron Stays Hot, Goes 4-0 At Valentine Tourney

The Chadron High volleyball team went 4-0, dropping just one set, at the Valentine Tournament on Saturday.

The Cards continued their red hot play which has seen them win 11 in a row and 15 of their last 17.

Chadron opened with their toughest match of the day, a 25-11, 21-25, 25-22 win over Ainsworth. Tatum Bailey had 17 kills and the team produced 13 ace serves.

Chadron had a much easier time against Cozad, 25-18, 25-6. Bailey once again led the way with 8 kills, Demi Ferguson had 7.

After a quick trip from the middle school to the high school Chadron kept chugging along by blasting Gordon-Rushville 25-10, 25-13. It’s Chadron’s 3rd win of the season over the Mustangs. Jaleigh McCartney had her best game of the day with 25 assists.

Demi Ferguson had double digit kills in the Cardinals final game of the day, a 25-22, 25-19 win over Valentine. Ferguson tallied 10 kills while Marlee Pinnt led the way with 4 blocks.

Head Coach Blakelee Hoffman had few words to say but was happy with the day, “It was great to go 4-0 on the day! We need to carry this confidence and momentum into the last week of the season.”

Chadron is now 18-12 and will host Alliance on Thursday at the Bird Cage and then wrap up the regular season this upcoming Saturday at the Pilfold Invitational at Alliance.
