The Chadron High softball team went 2-0 in a double header with Chase County on Friday.
The Cardinals put together a whopping 10 extra base hits including home runs from Ember Diers and Sarah LeBere in a 19-8 win in game #1. Chadron was able to put up runs in every inning, highlighted by a 7 run 3rd and a 5 run 5th.
The 2nd game was the same script with a different score. Haylee Wild and Meredith Rhembrandt blasted homers as Chadron scored 12 1st inning runs in a runaway 22-4 victory. The Cards also collected 10 extra base hits in the 2nd game as well.
The wins moved Chadron to 9-8 on the season, their first time above .500 since they opened the year with a win over Southern Valley/Alma.
Chadron will spend their Saturday at the North Platte Tournament where they will square off with Western Conference foe Gering in an 11:00 am showdown. Lexington and Kearney Catholic are also on Chadron’s side of the bracket.
North Platte, Alliance, Ralston, and Cozad fill the other side of the bracket.
