Chadron Volleyball Moves To 2-0

It’s two up, two down so far for the Chadron High volleyball team on their three game season opening stretch. The Lady Cardinals defeated Scottsbluff on Tuesday night 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22).

Anika Burke had another stout night at the net, leading the way with 8 kills and 4 blocks. Macy Daniels jumped in with 6 kills and Jaleigh McCartney tallied 5.

Jacey Garrett had a team high 12 digs and Emma Cogdill dished out 27 assists.

“I was really happy with how we bounced back after dropping the first. We just couldn’t get going right away, but the girls seemed to be resilient to any troubles we faced.”

Chadron High Volleyball Coach Blakelee Hoffman

Hoffman pointed out the play of Marlee Pinnt who had to step up for an injured teammate, “I was especially pleased with Marlee Pinnt stepping in for Demi, the team rallied around her and we didn’t seem to miss a beat.”

It’s a quick turnaround for the Lady Cardinals as they cap off their road swing at Gordon-Rushville. Fans will be asked to socially distance or are highly encouraged to wear masks when social distancing isn’t possible.
