Chadron’s Kenli Boeselager will look to make history on Saturday in the first ever NSAA girls state wrestling championships as she will battle for a title at 145-lbs.

For the 4th time this season Boeselager defeated Maria Barnes of Ogallala, this time in the semifinals, with a 5-1 decision. Boeselager will match up with Angelean Rose of Omaha Central who defeated Boeselager in the district championship with a pin.

Two others fell just short of championship matches but will come home with medals. Chadron’s Quinn Bailey dropped a 4-1 decision in the Class B 145-lb semi’s and will now wrestle in the consolation semifinals. Crawford’s Kolby Welling also lost a tough match in Class D at 182-lbs with a 5-2 decision and will also settle for the consolation semifinals.

Taylee Williamson of Chadron is still alive in the girls 107-lb bracket after winning her 1st round consolation match 5-4 and will advance to the 2nd round of consolations on Saturday morning.

The Chadron duo Ryan Bickel and Braden Underwood made it to the 3rd round of consolations, also known as the heartbreak round, before losing close matches.

Our coverage will start bright and early on KCSR and Chadrad.com with Williamson’s 2nd round consolation match and the consolation semifinal matches of Bailey and Welling.
