CIF To Take Over Rapid City Marshals Football

The Rapid City Marshals football team just closed out their first season of existence with a 2-7 record, and were recently sold by Pick Six Entertainment to a group that already owns a team in Gillette, Wyoming.

After a story surfaced in the Rapid City Journal this week that the Marshals had been removed from a hotel they were staying at due to lack of payment and accusations of bounced checks and missing wages were made, the CIF stepped in.

On Tuesday Champions Indoor Football, the league that Rapid City performs in, announced that they will take over the Marshals as well as the Billings, MT Outlaws, another team owned by Pick Six Entertainment.

The CIF issued a statement on Tuesday saying, “The CIF believes in both markets. The fans and corporate partners in both Billings and Rapid City have shown they want indoor football. We will assign full time personnel to both markets to do a full accounting of the operations and to identify and vet new ownership for each team. The fans in Billings and Rapid City can have confidence that indoor football will return in 2023.”

A press release says that announcements will be made in the coming weeks with new ownership groups for each team.
