Eagle Wrestling Program Ranked No. 25 Posted by Jeremy Anderson Date: January 23, 2021 59 Views The National Wrestling Coaches Association’s NCAA Division II team rankings on Friday showed the Chadron State College wrestling program cracking the top 25 teams, in advance of its appearance at the University of Nebraska at Kearney Midwest Duals on Saturday. The No. 25 Eagles received 12 team points in the poll as a result of freshman Rowdy Pfeil’s individual ranking of No. 4 in the 174-pound weight class. Pfeil’s 8-5 decision last Saturday over UNK’s Terrell Garraway, previously ranked No. 4 at 174 pounds, vaulted him one place ahead of the Lopers star in the latest round of voting. The rankings are voted on and compiled by two head coaches from each of the six Super Regions in NCAA Division II. Defending National Champion St. Cloud State remained atop the team ranking with 8 of 10 individuals ranked. Two of the Eagles’ Saturday opponents held their positions in the previous team rankings. Adams State University, which CSC will face at 8 a.m. MT, remained at No. 10, with four ranked individuals. Newman University, the Eagles’ next opponent after ASU, stayed at No. 23 with three individually ranked wrestlers. CSC will also dual Central Missouri at approximately 11 a.m. MT. All matches on Saturday will be held at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building and will be streamed live at arena.flowrestling.org.
