It looked for a while on Friday night like the Nebraska men’s basketball team was going to snap their 25 game conference losing streak, and against the #6 team in the nation, but Trey McGowans missed a shot at the buzzer in regulation and Illinois held off the Huskers in overtime 77-72.

Nebraska held a 34-33 halftime lead, but the teams swapped the lead the entire second half.

The Huskers led by six with under three and a half minutes to go, but Ayo Dosunmu who scored a game high 31 points for the Illini, scored 15 straight Illinois points to send the game to overtime.

Nebraska will travel to Penn State for a noon tip off on Sunday that can be heard here on KCSR.
