Ritzen Named To RMAC All-Academic First Team

Chadron State College junior wrestler Joe Ritzen, of Chadron, was selected to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team, as announced in a release Wednesday at RMACSports.org.

Ritzen was one of five CSC wrestlers who met the minimum qualifications to appear on the ballot, which was voted on by the league’s sports information directors.

Wrestlers must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average and have completed at least two semesters at their current schools.

Ritzen placed fourth at the 2021 NCAA Super Region VI Championships, and he went 3-4 in duals this season. He carries a 4.0 GPA in organizational management.

The four other qualifiers were named to the academic honor roll by the conference. They are redshirt freshman Ryder Fuchs of Pierce, Nebraska, redshirt freshman Harrison Gocke of York, Nebraska, senior Caleb Haskell of Madison, Nebraska, and redshirt freshman Gavin Peitzmeier of Omaha.
