The Crawford girls saw their 11 game winning streak end on Thursday afternoon in the semifinals of the Panhandle Conference Tournament with a 42-39 loss to Hemingford.
Leading 39-38, the Rams gave up a short fadeaway jumper to Catherine Bryner with 5-seconds left in the game to push Hemingford ahead 40-39. After a Crawford turnover on the ensuing inbounds and a foul, Bryner would knock down a pair of free throws to seal the win.
Bryner finished with a game high 22 points. Jasmine Dyer scored 11 and Natalie Barry added 10 for Crawford.
Hemingford will meet Sioux County in the championship game at the Chicoine Center on Friday at 5:00 pm. Crawford plays Edgemont in the 3rd place game at 1:30.
The Hemingford boys are also off to the championship after cruising by Edgemont 52-20.
The Moguls held a 6-4 after the first quarter, but the Bobcats would answer with 14, 16, and 18 points in the next three periods while Edgemont ever got more than 6 in any quarter.
Caiden Hill had 19 points and Hunter Wyland had 10 for the ‘Cats. Braden Peterson had 8 for Edgemont.
Hemingford matches up with Morrill in the boys championship at 6:45 on Friday night. Edgemont will face Hay Springs for 3rd at 3:15.
