The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2020-21 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls on Tuesday, placing the Chadron State College women at No. 17 with an annual team grade point average of 3.662.
A team’s GPA is the total number of quality points earned, divided by the total number of hours attempted by all team members in the semesters the season spans.
Out of 15 players who were on the roster at the start of the 2020-21 season, four were straight-A students and eight had at least a 3.5 GPA. They were led by Rachel Henkle, Jori Peters, Tatum Peterson, and Meaghan Ross, who each earned a 4.00 for both the fall and spring semesters.
The CSC team was nominated by CSC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Janet Raymer, whose Eagles were last ranked in the top 25 for the 2018-19 academic year, when they were No. 22 in NCAA Division II.
Taking top honors in Division II this past season was Tiffin University, with a 3.809 mark.
