Lloyd Cushenberry is the first Denver Broncos rookie to win the starting center job since J.D. Walton in 2010.
Cushenberry won the job despite a trying offseason of remote learning and no preseason games. He says he just had to study hard during Zoom meetings to learn how quarterback Drew Lock likes to operate the offense. Cusenberry is one of two rookies to win starting jobs in Denver.
He joins first-round pick Jerry Jeudy in the starting lineup. The Broncos open their season Monday night against the Tennessee Titans.
