Eagles Ninth On First Day Of RMAC Championships

Chadron State College women’s golfers totaled 335 strokes on Sunday to register ninth place, out of 12 teams, in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship tournament at Wigwam Golf Resort in the Phoenix area.

CSC was led by sophomore Alpine Hickstein, in seventh place individually. Hickstein was three strokes out of first place with a 77 to finish six-over-par. She tied for second in the field with 11 pars, out of 18 holes.

Other scorers for Chadron State included freshmen Brooke Kramer (84), Kenzey Kanno (86), and Allison Acosta (88).

The leading team in the RMAC Championship standings, after one round, was MSU Denver. The Roadrunners were voted sixth in the coaches’ preseason poll, and through the past week they ranked seventh among RMAC teams in the Golfstat.com national rankings.

The CSC golfers tee off around 1 p.m. MT, and noon PT, on Monday, for their second round of play out of three.
