The Chadron State College women’s volleyball was unsuccessful against Regis University on Friday, losing three straight sets, 14-25, 14-25, 16-25 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
The Eagles are now 2-4 (1-2 RMAC) on the 2020 season, while Regis improves to 5-2 (5-1 RMAC).
The Rangers were led to victory over the Eagles with three players earning double-digits. Halle Theis and Ayala Plummer had 11 kills and Rachel Suirek had 10. Mara LeGrand had 42 assists, the most on her team.
Haley Kennedy of Regis had 14 digs and played in all three sets.
Junior setter Breshawna Kelly had a hitting percentage of .667 while also getting the most assists of her teammates with 11.
Lexi Hurtado with 11 digs was followed by Karli Noble with 8 to lead their team with 19 of the Eagles’ 33 digs in the three sets.
In total, the Rangers out attacked the Eagles 98-87, hitting .388 compared to CSC’s .023.
The Eagles will head on the road for the rest of the season, playing nine matches before the RMAC Championships in April. The next match will be played against Western Colorado University on Monday, Mar. 1 at noon in Salt Lake City, Utah.
