Edgemont Taking A Wait & See Approach With Football Season

In an interview with Fox Sports Radio in Rapid City, Edgemont Athletic Director Barry Scott says that the Moguls football team has canceled next week’s season opener against Harding County/Bison and will make a decision on their entire season by Monday.

Scott says that as of this week only four players have gone out for football.

When reached by Chadrad Sports on Wednesday afternoon he said that they were trying to recruit kids from the school to join the football team and would need to add five for the school to move forward with a six-man football schedule.

Edgemont first year head football coach Kyle Kaiser told Fox Sports Rapid City on Wednesday afternoon that Scott has explored the possibility of a co-op with Custer.

If Edgemont moves forward with a decision to cancel its 2021 season it would leave Crawford a game short, and move the Rams home opener back to September 17th against Potter-Dix, unless another opponent can be found.
