If not in the Big Ten, Nebraska will look to play elsewhere. That was one of the messages delivered by Husker head football coach Scott Frost during a Zoom press conference on Monday addressing the current landscape of college football.

Frost went in to detail on the financial impact of canceling a football season would have on the university, the city of Lincoln, and the state itself. Frost repeatedly echoed his feelings on the safety of his players if they stayed on campus over returning to their home towns in other states.

Rumors swirled early Monday morning that the Big Ten presidents had decided to cancel the season on a 12-2 vote with Nebraska and Iowa the only two members approving of a season, but those rumors were later dismissed by multiple university athletic directors.

If the Big Ten does decide the cancel the season but gives its member institutions the ability to schedule independently, Nebraska will try to salvage a schedule.
