Frost Makes Staff Changes, Fires Four Offensive Coaches

After Nebraska AD Trev Alberts announced on Monday afternoon that football coach Scott Frost would return in 2022 despite his fourth straight losing season since his hiring in 2018, Frost announced that he would be making staff changes.

Frost announced the firings of Offensive Coordinator/receivers coach Matt Lubick, running backs coach Ryan Held, offensive line coach Greg Austin, and quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco.

In a statement Frost said, “I appreciate the work and sacrifices these men have made for the University of Nebraska and this football program and wish all of them well,They are all men of outstanding character and good coaches, but as we strive for better consistency and execution, we needed fresh ideas and voices on our offensive staff.”

Nebraska is going into a bye week at 3-7 with games against Wisconsin and Iowa left on the schedule.
