The Garden County Eagles soared past the Sioux County Warriors Tuesday night in a 60-22 effort that saw two Eagles put more than 20 points on the board.
The Warriors never found any traction in the contest as the Eagle’s stifling full-court press kept them off their game on offense. The Eagles’ quick offense, however, kept Garden County in control of the game even though Sioux County scored first.
A trey by Sioux County’s Tucker Monroe was the team’s only score in the opening quarter, and the only time all game the Warriors had the lead. Garden County went on to score 13 unanswered points and poured in 21 during the second quarter. The Warriors answered with seven points, including four by Sam Skavdahl, and only managed 12 points in the entire second half. Skavdahl led the team with 10 points.
Dillion Christansen led the Eagles with 27 points, and Johnny Vargas wasn’t far behind with 21.
