The second day of the Class C boys state golf meet was entirely different on Wednesday for the duo from Gordon-Rushille than it was on Tuesday’s opening day.
After shooting a 90 and sitting in 36th to start the 2nd day, Jace Nelson had eight holes of 3-over par or more on his way to a 113, and a final score of 203 to finish 67th.
Tegan Snyder was able to slide ahead of Nelson by following his first round score of 98 with a 102 on Wednesday for a total of 200. The score was good enough for 65th.
Rockney Peck of Wisner-Pilger was the individual champion with a 148.
Bishop Neumann won the team title over Columbus Scotus by virtue of a tie-breaker after both teams had a 680.
Mullen’s Brendon Walker ran away with the Class D solo crown with a round of 146, eight strokes better than the next closest golfer.
Crayton Cyza of Alliance carded a 161 to place 9th at the Class B meet.
