Gordon-Rushville Golfers Wrap Up Solid First Day At State Golf Posted by Jeremy Anderson Date: May 25, 2021 3:52 pm Leave a comment 162 Views The Class C boys state golf meet wrapped up its first day on Tuesday at Kearney Country Club with a pair of Gordon-Rushville golfers in the middle of the pack. Jace Nelson shot a 90 and sits tied for 36th, while Tegan Snyder ended his round with a 98 and is tied for 61st. Nelson played bogey ball most of the day on Tuesday but ran into a little trouble on holes 4 and 5, combining to shoot 6-over on the two holes. He would rebound at the turn going even par on 9, 10, and 11 and played fairly clean until a double bogey on 16. Snyder put together a solid round that trailed off on 16, 17, and 18 as he finished up the final three holes of the round at 8-over par. Snyder was able to par hole 7 and 14. Wisner-Pilger’s Rockney Peck leads the individual leaderboard with a 72, and Columbus Scotus is 6-strokes ahead of Aquinas Catholic in the team standings. Crayton Cyza of Alliance is tied for 9th in Class B after one round with a 79, Mount Michael leads the teams race over Skutt Catholic. Brendon Walker of Mullen has a 4 stroke lead over the field at the Class D meet with a 2-under par 70. North Platte St. Pat’s has a 12-stroke lead over Elm Creek in the team results. Second round play will start at 8:00am MT on Wednesday morning.
