Gordon-Rushville Sends Two To State Golf, Just Misses Team Qualifying


Gordon-Rushville’s Jace Nelson and Tegan Snyder will compete at the Class C state golf meet after top 10 finishes at the C-5 district meet in Bayard on Monday.

Nelson fired a round of 81, just five strokes behind the winning round of 76 from Mitchell’s Austin Thyne, to place 4th.

Snyder was just another three strokes back with an 84, good enough for 8th place.

Mitchell won the team title with a 331.  Bridgeport and Valentine were the other two team qualifiers with scores of 347 and 372.  Gordon-Rushville had a 378, leaving them six strokes shy of Valentine and the final automatic qualifying spot.

The Class C state meet will take place at Kearney Country Club next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 25th and 26th.
