It was a night of game clinching performances as the Chadron boys and girls went on the road and swept Sidney on Friday.
Demi Ferguson went the length of the floor in the final seconds and put in the game winner as time expired to give the Chadron girls a 60-58 win.
Taverra Sayaloune had a career high 15 points in her first ever start in a Cardinal uniform.
Ferguson finished with a team high 20 points and Laney Klemke had 12 on four 3-pointers.
Justus Alcorn had a career high 33 points and rallied Chadron from a 7-point 2nd half deficit for a 64-56 win.
The Cardinals also came up big at the free throw line going 16-of-22 on the night, including a 10-of-12 performance from Alcorn.
According to Chadron High historian Con Marshall, Alcorn’s scoring performance ranks as the 3rd best in school history behind 39 points from Jim Montague in 1980 and 37 from Kevin Moore in 1973.
The sweep at Sidney is Chadron High’s first on the road over the Red Raiders since the 2006-2007 season.
Both are now 11-6 on the year and head to Alliance on Tuesday.
