Cardinal Wrestlers Take 5th In Cozad Posted by Jeremy Anderson Date: December 05, 2020 403 Views Photo Courtesy: VInce Bickel The Chadron High wrestling team took 5th place at the Cozad Dual Tournament on Saturday with a 28-27 win over Seward. The Cardinals had a tough go of it in round robin action. Chadron lost to Gering 51-24, and then fell to Ogallala 39-30, before closing out with a 51-30 defeat at the hands of Lexington. Chadron broke through with a 35-28 victory of Cozad in the consolation bracket on their way to earning their 5th place finish. On the day heavyweight Ryan Bickel cruised to 5-0. All three of his contested matches were all pins in less than a minute and a half. Daniel Wellnitz and Brayden Underwood went 2-3, Fia Rassmussen was 1-4, and Dewey McMann was 0-5. Chadron will travel to Gordon-Rushville next Thursday for a triangular along with Valentine.
