Chadron Shuts Out Longhorns In Season Opener

Xander Provance, Dawson Dunbar, and Sawyer Haag each had a rushing touchdown to propel Chadron to a 26-0 season opening victory over Chase County on Friday night at Cardinal Field.

The win gives the Cardinals payback after last years 38-12 Longhorn win at Elliott Field at Chadron State.

Provance had the only Chadron score in the 1st quarter, giving the Cards an 8-0 lead after the 12:00 minutes.

Dunbar and Haag would get their rushing touchdowns in the 2nd quarter, extending the lead to 20-0 at the break.

A touchdown with just over 8:00 minutes left in the game would cap off the Chadron scoring, sending them to 1-0.

Chadron is on the road next week at Gordon-Rushville for a 6:00 pm kickoff.
