Sioux County took the opening set 25-21 behind four kills by Karlee Juhnke, three by Tamika Eastman, two by Kodie Rempp and one each by Beth Krein and Skylar Edmund. Eastman and Kailey Klein also added one ace serve apiece. The two teams were tied five times through set point 13 after which the Warriors took control to go up 1-0 in the contest. Edgemont claimed the second set in a back-and-forth contest that took extra play, with the Moguls on top 27-25 at the end. Sioux County took an early 7-0 lead thanks to kills by Klein, Edmund, Eastman and Juhnke, as well as a block by Edmund and Rempp. But Edgemont fought their way back into the contest and the teams battled it out until the Moguls clinched the set. The Moguls used that momentum to win the third set 25-20, leading the match for nearly the entire set in spite of ace serves by Warriors Eastman, Emily Parker and Klein, as well as five kills by Juhnke, and one each by Edmund, Klein and Rempp. Sioux County controlled the fourth set for a 25-18 win to force the fifth set. The Warriors took an early 2-0 lead with a kill by Edmund and an ace serve by Klein. The set was tied at set points three and four, before the Moguls took a brief 5-4 lead. A kill by Rempp tied the contest again, and back-to-back blocks by Krein and Klein and an ace serve by Parker put the Warriors back on top 7-5, a lead they never gave up. The determining fifth set went to the Moguls, however, 15-10, with Edgemont taking an early 4-3 lead and controlling the rest of the game for the victory.
