Thursday’s meeting was much closer as Hay Springs defeated the Cowboys 39-27. The Hay Springs lead was just four at the half and remained at four through the third quarter as both teams played even. A pair of Gabe Varvel three pointers were part of a 13-5 fourth quarter that sealed the win. Hay Springs is now 5-2 on the year. The five wins ties the amount of wins they had all of last season. Varvel and Logan DeCoste each finished the game with 9 points a piece. Hay Springs will head to Potter-Dix on Saturday.
