Sidney, Bridgeport Head To Girls State

The southern panhandle had an impressive night, going three for three in district finals.

Sidney held Auburn scoreless in the final quarter to win the C1-8 district title 43-24. The win gives the Red Raiders their fifth straight state tournament appearance.

Bridgeport hadn’t been to Lincoln since 2010, but the Bulldogs held off Clarkson/Leigh 52-44 in the C2-5 district final.

South Platte is in the state tournament field for the first time in their school’s history. The Blue Knights took down Shelton 39-31 in the D1-7 final.

Official state tournament brackets should be released sometime this morning.
