Solid Third Quarter Lifts Chadron Past Hemingford

A strong third quarter pushed the Chadron boys to a 56-37 win over Hemingford in the Chadron Rotary Holiday Tournament on Tuesday night.

Justus Alcorn led the way with 18 points.

After a tightly played first half in which Chadron led 25-18 at the break, the Cardinals put up 19 in the 3rd to build a 44-29 advantage.

Xander Provance was a big part of the 3rd quarter surge and finished with 12 points.

The win moves Chadron above .500 at 4-3.

The Cards will meet Custer in the boys championship game at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon and Hemingford will play Valentine in the boys consolation game at 11:30 am.
