Hot Springs Goes 2-1 To Open Season At Custer Tourney


The Hot Springs volleyball team went 2-1 on Saturday at the season opening Custer Tournament.

Rachel Rickenbach had 9 kills, Jaylen Nachtigal had 8 and the Lady Bison defeated Edgemont in their first game 19-25, 25-18, 25-20 in a meeting of Fall River County teams.

Hot Springs cruised in their 2nd game of the day against Pine Ridge 25-11, 25-16 behind 5 kills from Jadyn Walton. Alyssa Koffer added 6 set assists.

Walton led the way with 6 kills against Newell in a losing effort. The Lady Bison took the first set 26-24 before dropping the next two 25-13, 25-12. Kaylene Baker had 7 assists and Nachtigal had 5 kills, 2 ace serves, and a pair of digs.

Hot Springs will host Lead-Deadwood on Tuesday.
