Hot Springs, Gordon-Rushville Tangle In T&F Triangular


The Gordon-Rushville and Hot Springs girls each won six events, and the Gordon-Rushville boys won eight events at the three team Hot Springs track and field invite on Thursday.  Joining the Bison and Mustangs was Oelrichs.

Gordon-Rushville’s Elijah Jackson was the day’s big winner, taking gold in the boys 100m and 200m as well as the triple jump.  Donovan Fillmore won the boys 300m hurdles and long jump.

Marcus Harkless of Hot Springs captured first in both the shot put and discus.

The girls competition was a little more even across the board.  Gordon-Rushville and Hot Springs both had duo’s that won multiple events.

For the Mustangs, Jayla Brehmer took home top honors in the 400m and long jump, while teammate McKinley Grover won both throws.

Jaylen Natchigal was the champ in the 100m hurdles and 200m.  Carlie DeBoer won the 800m and triple jump.

Gordon-Rushville will compete at the Western Trails Conference meet in Mitchell on Monday while Hot Springs is in Sioux Falls today and tomorrow for the Dakota Relays.
