After sending six to the South Dakota boys and girls state wrestling tournament in Sioux Falls this week, Hot Springs brought home a pair of medals on Friday.
Sophomore Caleb Rickenbach battled back from a semifinal loss in Class B at 195-lbs to win two straight and claim 3rd. Rickenbach earned a 10-3 decision versus Nolan Dvorak of Wagner and then held off Taron Serr of Burke/Gregory in the 3rd place match 5-1 to end the season with a 47-4 record.
Meredith Ramacher lost both of her matches in the girls 106-lb bracket and came away with an 8th place finish.
Ramacher lost a high scoring affair in 3rd round of consolations 11-8 against Kyra Vandenberg of Belle Fourche and then stumbled in the 7th place match Destinee Wagner of Harrisburg by pin in 2:12.
