Hot Springs wrestlers went a combined 2-1 on the first day of the SDHSAA state wrestling championships in Rapid City.
At 170-lbs in Class B, Caleb Rickenbach pinned Kolby Peters of Flandreau in a quick :54 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Marcus Harkless was the other Bison winner at 220-lbs with a take down of Telgan Hadrick of Faulkton Area in 1:19.
Keaton Bissonette was the only loss, being pinned by Gunner Johnson of Lyman in 3:55.
Quarterfinal and consolation rounds begin Friday morning at 10:00 am.
