Nebraska head football coach Scott Frost has made a pair of additions to defensive staff, sort of.

The Lincoln Journal Star reported on Monday that former NFL assistant Bill McGovern and former college assistant Bobby Maffei have been hired as defensive analysts.

McGovern has been in the NFL the past 6 years, splitting that time between the NY Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.

Maffei is a Nebraska graduate and served as a student assistant for the Huskers prior to his graduation in 2011. After leaving Lincoln he made stops on coaching staffs at Temple, Baylor, and Richmond.

Nebraska’s staff now includes a total of 6 analysts, 3 offensive, 2 defensive, and one special teams analysts that do not count against the NCAA rule on number of coaches on a staff.
